In 2012, Patrick attended the URTA auditions in Chicago where he received call-back invitations from 13 MFA programs including University of California at Irvine, University of Missouri at Kansas City and University of South Carolina. After visiting with all the schools and reviewing their programs, he received offers from East 15 Acting School at the University of Essex in London, the University of Florida at Gainsville and The Ohio State University in Columbus. It was a difficult decision, and he ultimately chose to attend the three year intensive program at The Ohio State University as one of ten MFA candidates.
Patrick graduated in May 2015 from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH where he has performed in several productions including The Arabian Nights, The Visit, The Normal Heart and Shakespeare's The Tempest with guest director Cressida Brown from the Royal Shakespeare Company. He also worked with his MFA cohort to devise an original piece called In Here, Out There which opens the world of autism to the audience.
Patrick traveled to Stratford Upon Avon with his fellow MFA candidates in the summer of 2013 where they were privileged to attend several RSC productions and work one-on-one with seasoned company actors. They received intensive training through the RSC's Shakespeare and Autism project. OSU's partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company encouraged Patrick to nurture his love of classical theatre.
